🏷️ Listing Label Fixes — Trim Misidentification & Cross-Platform False Matches
Three data quality issues reported by users were fixed. (1) Trim mislabeling from descriptions: Rennlist and Hemmings listings were running trim detection against the full listing description — so a 2009 Targa whose seller wrote "better than a Turbo" was labeled as a Turbo, and a 2012 base Boxster with "A/T" (automatic transmission) in its description was labeled as a T trim. Trim is now parsed from the listing title first; the description is only consulted as a fallback if the title returns Base. (2) "T" and "R" trim false positives: the generic \bT\b regex matched "A/T" (auto transmission notation) since the slash counts as a word boundary. These checks now require "Carrera T" or "911 T" context to match, preventing base Boxsters and Carreras from being mislabeled. (3) Cross-platform false matches: the "Also on [source]" links were matching any two cars with the same year/model/trim and mileage within ±5,000 miles — so a $38K base Boxster would show "Also on C&B" pointing to a $52K Boxster S Black Edition. The match now also requires prices within 25% of each other, and the mileage tolerance was tightened to ±2,000 miles.
📐 Market Estimate Accuracy — Air-Cooled, Generation MSRP & Bracket Contamination
Three root causes of bad market estimates were addressed in one pass. (1) Air-cooled guard: pre-1998 911s now never fall back to the depreciation formula — these cars appreciate, so the formula was producing absurdly low values ($39K for a 1991 Turbo worth $400K+). They now only show an estimate when real auction comp data exists; otherwise no estimate is shown rather than a wrong one. (2) Generation-appropriate MSRP anchors: the formula fallback previously anchored every car to 2024 prices, so a 2003 GT3 was benchmarked against a $165K 992 GT3 MSRP instead of the ~$97K it actually cost new. All trims now use era-specific anchor prices — 992/991/997/996 generations each have their own base for GT3, GT3 RS, GT2 RS, GT2, Turbo, Turbo S, and Carrera variants. (3) 1999–2003 bracket contamination: the 5-year comp bracket for 1999–2003 cars (bracket key 1995) was mixing air-cooled 993 Carreras ($50–200K+) with water-cooled 996 Carreras ($15–30K), making estimates for early 996s wildly too high. Those cars now skip the contaminated bracket and fall back to the generation-correct formula instead. GT2 RS was also added to the collector-car appreciation model (alongside GT3 RS) since it holds and appreciates like a GT3 RS rather than following normal depreciation curves.
📈 Market Report Page
A shareable /market-report page now shows the current Porsche market at a glance — the kind of thing you'd screenshot and post. It includes: a live KPI row (total listings, avg asking price, 30-day sold price trend, new listings this week, price drops, market index); a full generation price chart for every 911 gen (992 through 993) and every Cayman/Boxster gen (718 through 986), with avg asking price bars and auction sold-price comp markers; BUY/PREM/FAIR deal badges per generation comparing current asking vs recent auction averages; a YoY model trend panel showing sold price changes year-over-year for 911, Cayman, and Boxster; a top trim value leaderboard (avg auction sale price for GT3 RS, GT3, Turbo S, GT4, etc.); and a live Best Deal card for the highest-scored listing right now. The page also has Post to X and Copy Link share buttons. Data updates automatically every 2 hours. Added to sitemap and footer nav.
📊 User Dashboard
Logged-in users now have a personal dashboard at /dashboard.html — accessible via the account menu after signing in. The dashboard consolidates everything tied to your account in one place: a profile card with your name, email, and member-since date; a stats row showing your active alert count, watchlist size, and saved search count; an Active Alerts panel where you can review and delete each alert including its model, variant, generation, and price filters; a Watchlist strip showing saved listings with deal score, price, and mileage; a Saved Searches section with filter summaries and one-click browse links; and an Alert History log showing which listings triggered notifications and when. A 📊 My Dashboard link was added to the account drawer on the main page.
🔔 Price Alert — Variant & Generation Filters
The Set Alert modal now lets you filter by specific variants and chassis generations per model. Under each model (911, Cayman, Boxster) there are two rows of selectable pills: Variant (e.g. GT3, GT3 RS, Turbo, Turbo S, GTS, Targa, GT4, GT4 RS, Spyder) and Generation (e.g. 992, 991.2, 991.1, 997.2, 997.1, 996, 993 for 911s; 718, 981, 987.x, 986 for Cayman and Boxster). Selecting specific pills narrows your alert to only matching listings — so you can set up a "997.2 GT3 under $120K" alert or a "991.1 Targa" alert without getting notified about every Carrera. Both filters are independent and default to All, preserving previous behavior for anyone who doesn't need the extra specificity.
🔧 Options Value Calculator
New standalone tool at Options Calculator — select your generation and check which factory options your car has to see their estimated resale premium. Covers 992, 991.2, 991.1, 997.2, 997.1, 718, and 981. Each option shows a dollar estimate of what it adds at resale (not what you paid for it), a High/Mid/Low ROI rating, and a plain-English note explaining why — including honest callouts like PCCB being a wash on older gens due to replacement costs. A sticky total bar tracks your running premium as you select options. Useful for buyers evaluating a listing spec, sellers knowing what to highlight, and anyone trying to understand what actually moves the needle at auction.
📈 Sale Price Chart on Sold History
The Sold History page now has a scatter chart showing real hammer prices over time. Each dot represents one sold listing — colored by source (BaT orange, Cars & Bids blue, PCarMarket purple) — with a dashed gold trend line showing monthly average prices. Filters let you slice by model, transmission, and generation. Hover any dot for a full tooltip (year, trim, miles, price, date), and click to open the original listing. The chart updates automatically when you change the model or source filters at the top of the page.
📊 Days on Market vs. Average
The days-listed badge on each card now shows how long a car has been sitting relative to the average for its model. If a listing is 1.5× or more above average, the badge expands to show the ratio — e.g. 47d · 2× avg — as a direct signal that the seller may have negotiating room. Hover the badge for full context: the exact days listed, the current market average, and a note about leverage when applicable. Averages are computed live from the active index each time listings reload, so they always reflect current market velocity.
💰 Price Per Mile on Cards
A small $X/mi figure now appears under the mileage stat on each card, making it easy to compare value across listings at a glance without doing mental math. A 997 at $35K with 80K miles ($0.44/mi) tells a very different story than one at $45K with 20K miles ($2.25/mi). Only shown on cars with more than 10,000 miles to avoid misleading figures on low-mileage collector cars.
🔨 Similar Sold Comps in Price History
The 📈 price history modal on each card now includes a Similar Sold section below the chart, showing up to 5 recent comparable sales pulled from 1,300+ real auction transactions on BaT, Cars & Bids, and PCarMarket. Each comp shows a thumbnail, trim, mileage, transmission, sale date, and hammer price — with a source color dot and a link out to the full sold history page filtered to that model and year range. The match logic tries same trim within ±2 years first, falling back to any trim within ±3 years if there aren't enough results.
🏁 Generation Badges & Filter
Every listing card now shows the chassis generation — 992, 991.2, 991.1, 997.2, 997.1, 996, or 993 for 911s; 718, 718.2, 981, 987.2, 987.1, or 986 for Cayman and Boxster. Click a badge on any card to instantly filter to that generation. When browsing by model (911, Cayman, or Boxster), a generation pill row appears below the model filters showing only the generations actually present in the current results — making it easy to narrow from "all 911s" down to just 991.2s or 997s in two clicks. Hovering a generation badge shows a tooltip with the year range and a quick buyer's note for that chassis — useful if you're still learning the Porsche model hierarchy.
📅 Deal of the Day — Stable 24-Hour Lock
The Deal of the Day previously changed every time the scraper ran (every 2 hours) because the top-10 list shifted as listings arrived and departed — even though the selection logic was day-based. The selection is now locked server-side: on the first scrape of each calendar day, a car is chosen and stored in the cache. Every subsequent scrape that day preserves that pick as long as the listing is still live. A new car only surfaces the following day.
🔧 Panamera / Non-Target Porsche Filter (Rennlist)
A Panamera listing on Rennlist slipped through as a 911 because the description mentioned "911" in a comparison. The Rennlist scraper now runs an explicit model exclusion check against the listing title and JSON-LD model field before falling through to description text — rejecting Panamera, Cayenne, Macan, Taycan, 914, 928, 944, and 968 listings at the source level.
🔨 Sold Results — Porsche Auction Price Database
New dedicated page at flatsixfinder.com/sold.html showing real hammer prices from Bring a Trailer, Cars & Bids, and PCarMarket. Filter by model (911/Cayman/Boxster), source, and year range to find relevant comps — useful for buyers researching what to pay, sellers pricing their car, or anyone following the market. Over 1,300 sales in the database with avg, high, and total stats at the top. On the main listings page, recently sold cars are now capped at 4 inline with a link out to the full sold history, keeping the grid clean. TTL also tightened from 48h to 24h.
🎯 Smarter Est. Final Bid on Auctions
The estimated final price for BaT and Cars & Bids auctions is now significantly more accurate. Four improvements shipped together: (1) confidence band now widens with time remaining — ±25% with 4+ days left, tightening to ±6% in the final hours, so early-auction estimates are honest about uncertainty; (2) BaT/C&B market anchor gets a 10% premium over private-party comps, reflecting the curated auction audience; (3) no-reserve auctions get a small upward nudge since they attract more aggressive bidding; (4) a comp floor ensures the predicted final never falls below 75% of market estimate, even when the current bid is a token early offer. The Deal of the Day now shows the range inline: $9,100 → est. $66K – $74K final.
🔧 718 Cayman Turbo Trim Misclassification Fixed
BaT and Cars & Bids listings for the 718 Cayman and Boxster were occasionally being tagged as "Turbo" trim because the card text references the turbocharged engine ("turbocharged flat-four"). The 718 has no Turbo trim designation — that's a 911-only name. The trim parser now ignores Turbo matches for Cayman and Boxster listings, which corrects the market estimate and deal score for those cars.
🔧 Price Sanity Ceiling on Auction Listings
Occasional price parse errors — where a stock number, reserve amount, or unrelated figure got picked up as the current bid — could inject absurd values like $629K for a 911 T. A per-model ceiling now drops these automatically: $3M for 911 (generous enough for any air-cooled collectible), $600K for Cayman and Boxster. Filtered listings are logged for monitoring.
⏱ Deal of the Day — Live Auction Countdown
When the Deal of the Day is a BaT or Cars & Bids auction, a live countdown now appears showing exactly how much time is left — displayed as days, hours, minutes, and seconds, ticking in real time. Switches to a red pulsing state when under 2 hours so you know when a bid is closing fast.
🪦 Recently Sold — Tombstone Cards
Listings that disappear between scrapes are now held for 48 hours as grayed-out tombstone cards instead of silently vanishing. Each shows a ⚫ No longer listed badge and how many hours ago it was removed. A 🪦 Recently Removed pill appears in the filter bar when tombstones are present — click it to see only removed listings in isolation, or leave it off to find them below the live grid under a divider. Tombstones are excluded from all stats, counts, and the Deal of the Day. Auction listings (BaT, Cars & Bids) are excluded since those end naturally.
🏆 Collector Badge
Coachbuilt and ultra-high-value Porsches now get a distinct gold card treatment and 🏆 Collector badge — triggered by known builder keywords (Singer, Tuthill, Guntherwerks, RWB, backdating) in the listing URL or by price above $350K (Carrera GT, 918, 959, GT1). No separate filter button — these just stand out naturally when they surface. Hover the badge for an explanation of what qualifies.
💎 Rare Specs — Smarter Criteria
The Rare Specs filter now only badges listings that are genuinely rare market-wide, not just underrepresented in our index. Previously any spec with ≤5 hits could appear — meaning a PDK Carrera 4 Cabriolet with one Carvana listing would show as "rare" even though there are plenty available nationally. Now only two categories qualify: GT/RS/Turbo S trims (inherently special, threshold ≤5 across all sources) and manual-transmission trims (threshold ≤3). PDK variants of common trims are excluded entirely. Rarity counts always use all sources combined.
Deal of the Day — Daily Rotation
The Deal of the Day now cycles through the top 10 deals each day instead of locking onto the #1 score indefinitely. A date seed advances the pick at UTC midnight, so the same car shows all day but a fresh one surfaces tomorrow. Also fixes Rennlist model misclassification — listings mentioning "911" in the description body (e.g. "cheaper than a 911") were incorrectly showing as 911s. JSON-LD model field and title are now checked first before falling back to full text.
Auction Watch — 24-Hour Window
Expanded the Auction Watch window from 2 hours to 24 hours. The 2-hour window almost never showed results since BaT and Cars & Bids auctions are scheduled days in advance. 24 hours gives you time to research, check comps, and decide before bidding.
🚗 Model Landing Pages
Dedicated pages for /911, /cayman, and /boxster — each with live inventory stats (count, avg price, lowest listed, % manual), top deal-scored listings, recent sold comps, a generation comparison table, and an in-depth buying guide. Clean URL routes added. A new Models dropdown appears in the main nav.
Rennlist Source Color
Rennlist badge color changed from red to teal so it's visually distinct from Hemmings, which was also red. Source dots and filter buttons now unambiguous at a glance.

New filter pill that surfaces only listings with rare spec badges — manual Turbos, GTS variants, Spyders, GT cars, and other low-count configurations currently on the market.
💎 Rare Specs Ranking
Rare Specs view now ranks listings by rarity across all sources — truly one-of-a-kind specs (count = 1) float to the top, then 2-of-a-kind, and so on. Deal score breaks ties within each tier so the best value rare car rises above the rest.
📍 State Filter
Filter listings by state directly from the Advanced Filters panel. The dropdown auto-populates from available listings sorted by count, and syncs to the shareable URL. Location is now shown on every listing card.
🏁 Rennlist Classifieds
Listings from the Rennlist Marketplace are now aggregated alongside BaT, Cars & Bids, PCarMarket, Hemmings, and Cars.com. Rennlist is one of the most trusted Porsche enthusiast communities, adding 40+ peer-to-peer listings every scrape.
